Jordi Calviño Pedreira a.k.a Loop Stepwalker
Born at A Coruña (Spain) 1985. That young restless mind has positioned himself as one of the “ones to watch” in just one year of producing dubstep, getting signed on one of the best underground music labels (AD NOISEAM) and being featured on one of the best radioshows of dubstep and bass music, such as electronic explorations.
Moving constantly, he’s always on many projects, with well known artists and has been sharing decks with very big names on the DNB and Dubstep scenes, spreading his talent all over Spain and part of Europe, playing at the best venues of the style and big festivals make loop stepwalker a sure shot for delivering dance floor madness every time he faces the decks…
Supported and collaborating with people like Cooh/Balkansky, Broken Note, Cultprate, Dean Rodell, Sinister Souls, Niveau Zero, Vibromaster, Redub, Hard2Flip, Tom Encore+many more.
Austen Afridi aka DJ Philistine has been blowing up the blogosphere for the last year. He began producing a little over a year ago starting with mashups, but now has moved to dubstep and house. He lived in Rome, Italy for 5 months last year and started his DJ career there playing at several of the hottest clubs. Still in college, he plans to continue producing when he is out. He is currently looking at signing to a electro label releasing disco house and dubstep. Keep a look out for him in the future. He know resides in The East Bay of California.
If you wack Culprate into youtube, you’ll be hit with some pretty spectacular dubstep. Magnificently produced and perfectly executed, Culprate is the name that seems to be on everyone’s lips at the moment. See for yourself, dubstep idioms such as ’sick, ‘heavy’ and ‘pure filth’ are being spoken out from fans across the globe. One enthusiast even wrote, and i quote, ‘makes me want to collect used chewing gum and build a sculpture of the Russian Prime Minister out of it.’ Not the most conventional of complements, but it sure did make us laugh!
Culprate’s musical intuition started at the age of just 13, when he decided to learn the guitar. By the age of 15, Culprate’s passion and creativity really came into bloom as he was introduced to electronic music production at college. From then on it was just a matter of time before his driven persona and growing production skills resulted in fantastic dub step anthems, tearing their way through clubs around the world.
Having established several releases already on respected dubstep record labels like ‘Dubsaw,’ Culprate has already marked his territory in the dubstep scene. However, he is far from content, admitting recently he would love to get his hands on some hardware to take his production to the next level. And with influences ranging from Squarepusher to Amon Tobin, only Culprate could tell you what sort of production the future holds. But from what we’ve seen already, we know it’ll be good.
